Who is Living Stones?
Living Stones Student Ministries is the youth ministry at Hastings Evangelical Free Church. We offer ministry to 7th-12th grade. Living Stones has an awesome team of adults who love kids and desire to see them grow in their faith. We meet on Wednesday nights for a meal, fun, worship and teaching. Relationships are very important to us. Whether it is hanging out at One Way Café (our snack bar) or just talking over a meal, we want to get to know you. You matter to us. Come join us and get connected.

Our Purpose and Vision
Living Stones Student Ministries exists to bring glory to God by helping students become passionate Christ followers who are equipped to help others on the same journey.

1 Cor. 10:31 / Matt. 28:18-20 / 2 Tim. 2:2

It is our desire to develop a fun, relevant, Christ-centered community where students are exposed to the Gospel, challenged to grow in their faith, equipped to serve Jesus and connected to others for the purpose of bringing glory to God’s name.

1 Peter 2:5
“…you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Life Groups
These groups are designed to help students connect to one another and help students and adults develop significant relationships. It is our desire to develop an atmosphere where students can experience love and care. They will meet every week at the end of youth group for connection, discussion and prayer.

D.I.G. (Deeper In God)
9:45 AM Sundays
We meet on Sunday mornings in the youth room. DIG is designed to help students go deeper in their understanding of God’s Word. We begin the morning together and then we separate into junior high and senior high groups for teaching. All junior high and senior high students are welcome.

Our Core Values
We believe the Bible is God’s infallible word and the basis for all truth we present. We will keep the Bible central as we lead, teach, counsel and encourage students (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We believe that prayer is foundational to healthy, Christ-centered ministry. We will strive to consistently seek God’s guidance and direction in all that we do (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
We believe that lost people deeply matter to God. We will stay committed to doing whatever it takes to bring lost students into life-changing faith in Christ (Luke 19:10).
We believe that each individual Christian is called to mature in their faith. We will seek to foster an environment that encourages and enables students to grow closer to Christ (1 Peter 2:1-3).
We believe that people were created to bring glory and honor to God. We will passionately pursue the worship of God both corporately and individually
(1 Corinthians 10: 31 / Romans 12:1).
We believe that community is essential for healthy spiritual development. We
will be committed to developing a Biblical community of believers who engage in meaningful relationships and celebrate as one body (Acts 2: 42-47).
We believe that students are capable of significant contribution and need to be encouraged to have ownership of the ministry by expressing their gifts, talents and personalities. We will diligently try to involve students in various areas of service.
We believe that it is important to entrust some students with leadership roles.
We will seek to identify students ready to become leaders, train them and then release them with ministry responsibilities (2 Timothy 2:2).
We believe that students need caring adults in their lives. We will strive to develop an adult leadership team that is uniquely gifted to love, encourage and lead students in their journey with Christ.
We believe that the best environment for spiritual growth is one of honesty and transparency. We will seek to create a community where students will find safe, transparent believers who are open to their needs and faith questions.
