Our Core Values

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

As an Evangelical Free Church family we value our relationship to God and join together in corporate, celebratory worship as a place for each person to experience the reality and presence of God. Through worship we seek to enter His presence to magnify, exalt, give thanks, honor, and to glorify God, recognizing who He is and what He has done. (Psalm 100;Psalm 34:3; I Chronicles 16)

RELATIONSHIPS
We value relationships both vertical and horizontal. We are created for a relationship with the Triune God. All ministry flows from the vertical relationship with God. The horizontal relationship is required for effective evangelism and discipleship. Christ’s love enables us to build relationships with family and friends that become a witness to a lost world. (John 15)

SPIRITUAL GROWTH
a. Spiritual growth is an expected, ongoing process, begun at spiritual birth, involving growth in knowledge, obedience, and expressed love for God and others. (Philippians 1:6, 9; John 15:1-17)
b. Spiritual growth is a work of the Holy Spirit, supported by an intentional strategy including scriptural teaching, ministry training and accountable relationships. (Galatians 3:1-5; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Ephesians 4:11-12; Proverbs 27:17)

PRAYER
Prayer is communicating with God and an indispensible part of our relationship with Him. We are committed to modeling and practicing a lifestyle of prayer, as well as, to teaching biblical principles of prayer within the entire church family. It is our conviction that this lifestyle of prayer should overflow into all our relationships. It is our desire that prayer be practiced in a variety of settings and in the various ministries of our church family: corporate prayer, ABF’s, small groups, one-to-one relationships. We are committed to praying together as leaders and for our leaders on a regular basis in order to seek the Lord’s guidance and do His will as we pursue ministry to the Glory of Christ. (Acts 2:42; 4:31; 2 Corinthians 1:11; 1 Timothy 2:1-2; Colossians 4:2-4; I Thessalonians 5:17)

BIBLICAL AUTHORITY
We hold the Holy Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God. We desire to know and apply the principles of His word in our daily lives. We need to be steadfast in truthfully teaching the Word of God to ensure that sound doctrine will endure:
a. By teaching the Word of God in our worship services.
b. By studying the Bible in Adult Bible Fellowships .
c. By teaching biblical principles to children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other programs.
d. By mentoring individuals one-to-one and within small groups. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 4:1-5)

OUTREACH
We desire to intentionally contact people outside our church doors, so that they may connect with God’s people, while being introduced to Jesus. This is accomplished by:
a. Cultivating relationships through creating large and small group activities that allow the Christian core to contact unchurched people outside of our regular programming.
b. Planting seeds of love through organized events that are attractive to the unchurched/non-Christian people of our community so the Good News about Jesus will be clearly communicated to them. (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20)

STEWARDSHIP

It is our conviction that all that we have in life comes from God. He is the source, owner, and giver of everything. We are called on to use all that God gives us as responsible and generous stewards. As stewards we are called on to use our material resources, natural talents, spiritual gifts, and time to the glory of God and to further the work of Christ on this earth. (Genesis 1:27-28; Psalm 50:10-14; Proverbs 3:9-10; Psalm 139:13-16; Romans 12:1-7; Ephesians 5:15-17)
